200th Airbus Apple Tree Planted

Crossway Infant School, Thornbury was the site of the 200th apple tree planted as part of the Mini Orchard project sponsored by Airbus.

Hundreds of pupils in 20 schools across the area have learnt about the  importance of trees as part of local biodiversity, through this fantastic project sponsored by Airbus. Hundred’s have also taken part in planting orchards and have received guidance on how to look after these into the future.

‘I feel that this is an excellent example of the Trust’s role in linking  business and the community and delivering a project with a lasting impact’ said Jon Clark, Trust Executive Director. ‘It was great to work with a local company as prestigious as Airbus and I am sure that will be many more business sponsored orchards and plantings to come’.
