The charity is passionate about the importance of engaging children (and others) in the natural world and there is no better way to do this than by planting a tree. We are now pleased to offer three schemes to get more trees planted in school grounds and to support schools to do this:
Woodland Trust Tree Packs:
The Forest of Avon Trust is working in partnership with the Woodland Trust to promote their free tree packs to selected primary schools in Bristol & Avon, also providing planting guidance and support. To see if your school is eligible please email: Anna Brunton who will also be able to advise on what is available and the link to order your trees.
Community Forest Tree Packs
The Forest of Avon Trust is being funded by Defra (as part of a national programme) to work with schools to promote the benefits of trees and woodlands and to support them to plant trees in school grounds. This scheme is available to primary schools across the Forest of Avon Community Forest (around Bristol) and the Great Western Community Forest (around Swindon). If you are interested, please email: Anna Brunton.
School’s Orchard Programme
Now in its sixth year with over 50 school orchards planted, the Forest of Avon Trust works with schools in Bristol & Avon every year to provide free orchards of ten fruit trees. Sponsors have included Airbus UK, John Lewis Partnership, Pukka Herbs and most recently, Western Power Distribution: thank you all! If you are interested, please email Anna Brunton. The number of orchards offered each years depends on the sponsorship available.
