Getting Trees Planted in Bristol & Avon
Over a million trees have already been planted in the area as part of the Forest of Avon and with existing woodlands, provide a huge range of local benefits.
Climate change and ash dieback disease (which could kill 15% of local trees), mean that we need your help to plant many more trees.
How Can I Support Tree Planting?
Whether you have calculated your carbon footprint, or just want to improve your local area, we have some great ways to help:
£10 plants, protects and provides long-term care for a small tree, £35 pays for a fruit tree planted at a local school and £325 pays for a street tree (planted by a local council). For large donations we can discount the small tree cost.

How Can Businesses Support Tree Planting?
- Sponsor us to plant trees and link these with sales leads and/ or carbon offsetting targets: Cost between £8- £10/ small tree, depending on scale of sponsorship. Cost includes all planting, protection and long-term care; trees will be planted by ourselves and/or partners on land where there is a written commitment to long-term tree care.
- Make a contribution to tree-planting: Cost: £5/ small tree. Your tree will be planted and cared-for as part of a scheme attracting other funding to ensure all long-term costs are covered. Through this scheme you can directly contribute to the planting of a set number of trees, but can only claim carbon sequestered if other funders agree.
- Sponsor the charity's work (including local tree planting): Cost: £250/ year for businesses (1-10 staff); £500/ year for businesses (11-25 staff); £1,000/ year for businesses (26-50 staff) and by agreement with larger businesses.

Planting Farm Woodlands
Whatever your interest in planting trees and however large the scheme, we can provide free, impartial advice to get you on your way (and if required, consultancy to deliver the scheme).
You will be advised by Jon Clark has worked at a senior level in community forestry for 30 years. Over this time Jon has worked closely with farmers & landowners to plant farm woodlands, meeting a wide-range of objectives. Jon is also a Chartered Landscape Architect and Town Planner.
A range of incentives for woodland creation are now available: Woodland Creation Grant (for all types of woodland 3ha+), Woodland Carbon Fund (large-scale productive forestry) and the Woodland Carbon Guarantee, where carbon sequestration is an objective and can be added to both the above. There are a also grants to cover the costs of woodland planning and design, so our involvement in this would be cost neutral.
Carbon Offsetting & Trees
Many companies and individuals want to plant trees to offset their carbon use. Where these offers comply with the Woodland Carbon Code, they can provide additional funds for woodland creation and we can broker arrangements between landowners and these third parties.
Where a robust methodology is used to calculate carbon use and the Woodland Carbon Code is used to calculate its uptake by trees, we may be able to accept donations and pass these on to landowners, provided the offset is not double-counted. Donations need to reflect the whole life costs of planting & establishing trees.
