Why we need trees
Trees are crucial for a thriving and resilient Bristol and remove approximately 14,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. That’s equivalent to the emissions of 9,000 cars. However, the Bristol forest is under threat. In years to come, 75% of the city’s most common tree, the ash, is expected to be lost as a result of ash dieback. Never has there been a more pressing time to accelerate our planting of trees in Bristol.
